What is the INFORAD Moto?
The INFORAD Moto is a GPS-warning system for dangerous zones, especially developed for bikers. The Inforad for motorcycles has been developed for the same reason as the one that fits cars. Its purpose is to warn riders for hazardous areas so that hard or late braking can be avoided.
Is the INFORAD MOTO reliable and efficient?
The INFORAD Moto continuously monitors the vehicle’s location using the GPS satellites. The processor compares your position to the ones of hazardous zones. As soon as the Inforad sees that you’re approaching a dangerous zone (either with or without a speed camera) it will notify you immediately with its clear LED and/or sound alert. In contrast to cars, motorcycle systems require a different approach regarding installment, this because of the weather, available space and discretion. While developping the Inforad Moto, these oppositions have been well examined. The Inforad Moto is made out of two main parts:
- a fixed piece, installed on the bike; let’s call this the “holder”
- a removable piece, containing the electronics, can be mounted onto the holder, we’ll call this piece the "processor"
Two different pieces are the best option to simplify the mounting and removing of the GPS-parts. The processor is easily removable from the holder in order to allow easy updating of the database, containing the hazardous zones. The INFORAD Moto has been developed so that it doesn’t require any attention during your rides.
As explained before, the Inforad Moto is split up in two main pieces:
The holder is placed on the motorcycle, ensuring a solid mouting of the processor and allowing it to contact the other parts of the system. The processor is the most important part of the system as it contains the electronics of the GPS system, the memory that’s required for the database and several other important parts.
How does the INFORAD MOTO work?
As soon as the rider enters a dangerous area, he will be warned by the clear LEDs. The flexible tube allows installment at just about any place in the front of the bike. You can hold the tube in place using the furnished tie wraps. As the 20cm long tube is flexible, you can turn its head (containing the LEDs) in any direction you want, so that it doesn’t distract you when you’re not using the Inforad.
The tube has two (red and green) very bright (6000-8000 mcd) LEDs incorporated, so even in bright sunshine, the LEDs are well visible. To avoid blinding the rider, the LEDs will automatically dim at night. The Inforad knows your position and the sun’s, so it will automatically dim at sunset.
Is the INFORAD MOTO legal according to traffic laws?
Our speed camera warning system has been developed to improve road safety and is 100% legal according to traffic laws. The database is built up with officially published information we gather from the autorities in several countries. This helps improve information about accident-sensitive places and increases road safety. Keeping this in mind, we can conclude that this device, just like any other GPS-device, accords to article R413-15 of the traffic law.
